Fred Pfeiffer was born with an insatiable drive to know what makes things "tick." A radio and television journalist for over thirty years, Fred has added "Pfeiffer’s Pfacts" to his latest list of accomplishments.

Fred was born in Great Falls, Montana. His childhood and early school years were spent in Cut Bank, Montana. It was during those long cold Montana winters that Fred often spent time reading and learning about places, facts and generally investigating the world around him.

During his adult years Fred has been a radio announcer, news director, talk show host, television news anchor, reporter and a state correspondent for USA Today. Today his focus is primarily as a television weatherman during the week on KRTV in Great Falls, Montana, as well as researching and writing "Pfeiffer’s Pfacts." The "P" in Pfeiffer is always silent and that is the story behind the title and the word "Pfacts."

The column was first published February 13, 2001 in the Great Falls Tribune at the urging of L.M. Boyd when he originally retired.. It continues today more than four years and over 700 columns later appearing each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the Tribune. The column  focuses on trivia,  facts and an occasional quote that may or may not be the topic of discussion around the water cooler at work. Fred at least hopes so.

Since that time Pfeiffer's Pfacts has become part of the weekly "Island Park News" in beautiful Island Park, Idaho. September 6, 2004 the Victoria Texas Advocate became our first 6 day per week daily paper following the permanent retirement of L.M. Boyd. Other's that have quickly followed suit are the Daily News Journal in Murfressboro, Tenn., The Casper Star Tribune in Casper, Wyo., as well as the Yuma Sun in Yuma, Ariz. The Vernon Daily Record in Vernon, Texas is the latest to join daily papers that carry the column. With a goal of at least one paper in each of our 50 states we would love to add the column to your local paper. You will find rates less or equal to those charged for Boyd's columns!

The column is intended for entertainment and since it's inception Fred has found it to be a "must read" for many grade school classes on the days it appears in the paper. While visiting many area grade schools to talk about "weather" and "television" Fred is often asked about the column and told it is something they always read at sometime during their class periods.
